A Timeless Kitchen Design to Feel Like It Was Always There
A thoughtful renovation that improved storage, prep space, and everyday function while preserving the character of the original home.
PROJECT 01
THE CHALLENGE
More Function Without Losing the Home's Character
This 1920s home needed more usable storage, better island prep space, and a layout that could support both everyday family life and entertaining. The challenge was to introduce modern function and high-end finishes without making the kitchen feel disconnected from the age and architecture of the house.

THE DESIGN DIRECTION
Rework the Function, Preserve the Story
We redesigned the kitchen around the way the family actually uses the space. Drawers and pantry cabinetry were added to create more practical storage, while the sink and cooktop locations were changed to improve workflow and strengthen the main preparation and cooking zones. The material palette was selected to feel elevated, timeless, and appropriate for the home’s original character.
THE RESULT
A Kitchen That Works Better and Belongs Completely
Everyday tasks are now easier, frequently used items have a dedicated home, and the kitchen feels more organized and intuitive. The finished space combines modern function with timeless detailing, creating a kitchen that feels refined, purposeful, and as though it has always belonged in the home.
